Never mind muddy fields and unpredictable European weather, Groove Fest is re-designing the way dance music fans spend their summers with an all new and bespoke dance music festival set over 7 days in the Caribbean island of the Dominican Republic at Puerto Plata's premier vacation resort.
Taking place between 5th and 12th September 2012, Groove Fest will pair the best house music talents, live artists and bands with the most luxurious beaches and finest facilities for an all-inclusive week in the unparalleled Caribbean sun. Taking over the clubs, bars, outdoor spaces and glistening swimming pools that make up the dreamy resort, Groove Fest will be the festival experience you never forget.
The first wave of artists and labels to be announced (expect many more in phase two) include the best from the worlds of deep house, soul and disco with names like Jamie Jones and his Hot Natured crew, Defected, Horse Meat Disco, Kenny Dope, Krank Brothers London's infamous Creche all confirmed.
Importantly, all food, drink, transfers and entrance fees are included in the price so, once you're there, it won't cost you a thing to enjoy the peerless open-air festivals, beach parties, pool parties, boat parties and club events. Not a bad thing at all when you consider the 5* setting – a spectacular and lavish resort on the North Coast of the Caribbean's most popular island, surrounded by sun-baked mountains, vibrant green vegetation and cooled by the soothing breezes that roll in off the Atlantic Ocean – idyllic is the only word which comes close.
As well as the carefully programmed events, the keen eye for production and exclusive location, you will be able to enjoy a variety of fine eateries whatever your preference… Italian, Mexican, Caribbean - all things are catered for with food available 24 hours a day from any one of the numerous restaurants which make up this most heavenly Island.
What's more, your accommodation (which ranges from villa to presidential suite to studio depending on your budget) will have a fully stocked fridge with ice cold drinks, a choice of alcohol and will be re-stocked everyday by the same maid who – if you chose to stay in a villa - cooks you breakfast each and every morning.
Of course, you'll need some way of getting around so - should you be staying in a villa or Presidential Suite - in true Caribbean style you'll be given a golf buggy in which you can cruise around until your heart is content. Since 2003, D-Edge has been one of Brazil's most celebrated nightclubs and one always content to going its own way, against the mainstream rush elsewhere in the country. Bringing the finest underground talent from the worlds of house, techno and everything in between; the club is a compact but futuristic space with punchy soundsytem, award winning design, intimate dancefloors and LED enhanced lighting.
A DAS Soundsytem adorns the main room, which also has lighting designed by Muti Randolph (a top talent also responsible for last year's Coachella Festival) whilst Funktion Ones have the reigns in the second room and lounge. The thousands of LEDs that line the walls are extra special, too, and add an extra mind-melting dimension to the sleek interior. Said interior is made up of sleek lines, futuristic designs and a tasteful mélange of classic and avant-guard aesthetics, and makes a sensual and sensory superlative setting for the DJs and performers who pass through each week.
Under the stewardship of owner, passionate music lover and warm host Renato Ratier, D-Edge has also grown to encompass a record label and agency of excellent repute, both of which nurture and enhance local and national talents and scenes with vigor. With 2012 plans looking as good as ever (the likes of Ricardo Villalobos, Martyn, Soul Clap, Wolf & Lamb, Ali Love, Cassy, Shonky and Lee Foss are coming between now and March) D-Edge will likely succeed in its quest to remain as one of the top clubbing destinations in the world.

After a storming year of events which has seen sand imported to Birmingham, Cream team up with Face, charity events, parties with Snowbombing, label showcases and so much more it all comes to a head tonight at the FACE NYE party with Matthias Tanzmann, Dyed Soundorom, Maceo Plex live and invite GLAS to also get in on the action…
Matthias Tanzmann started his DJ and production career in the mid nineties in Leipzig, playing regularly at the renowned club 'Distillery'. These early days saw his first release as \'Gamat 3000\' on Dessous Recordings, which was quickly followed by releases on Freude Am Tanzen, Lo-Fi Stereo and FM Musik. In 2000 he founded Moon Harbour Recordings, and since then scores of Moon Harbour releases have been play listed by renowned DJs all over the world. The label rapidly became synonymous with quality deep-house and tech-house, and has released many of Matthias Tanzmann's own records as well as those from the likes of Luna City Express, Marlow, Martinez and Dan Drastic.
Dyed Soundorom meanwhile is the Frenchman who has owned Circoloco with his groovy, retro tinged house sets in the last few years. As well as that he plays all over the world and releases his on-point tech house sounds for the likes of Culprit, Crosstown and Freak n Chic….
As well as the stellar residents, Maceo Plex will complete the line-up with a very special live performance. If anyone's had a better year in 2011 let us know… The music Maceo has been making this year (as well as a full length album) fits in perfectly with the current slow, sensual house revolution and finds a home on leading leftfield house label Crosstown Rebels. Slighty poppy and electro tinged, its heartfelt and warm and makes for a great soundtrack to any discerning party.
As for GLAS, they provide more killer house and techno sounds from MK aka Marc Kinchen and garage form Artful Dodger. Make sure you join Face for one last blow-out in 2011.

United As One NYE has sold out the last two years in a row….. last years event sold out well in advance so we recommend buying tickets early to avoid missing out!
